Spray Tanning

FAQ's

Will the tan go orange?
Spray tans will go orange for several reasons. Cheap products are one reason and poor pre and after care is another. If you have too many tans and overload the skin with DHA the main ingrediant in tanning solutions then the skin can develop orange undertones. Using the right blend of solution to suit your skintype is another way to avoid this. Its best not to try to go too dark straight away. Build up the blends until you find a colour you prefer.

When is the best time to get a spray tan before a night out or special occasion?
The best time is one to two days before the event. This allows for the colour to develop and give enough time to correct any mistakes should they occur. If you have had a trial run before hand or perhaps have regular tans already then you can safely leave this to the day before your event.

Will the Fake Tan cover my cellulite and stretchmarks?
Fake tan will not make these marks completly dissapear (oh I wish!) but they will help hide them a little by evening out the skin texture and tone. A tan will make you feel and look better anyway so your confidence will outweigh your worries about this. I know we all hate our lumpy bumpy bits, but most women have them and theres no magic cure unless your married to a plastic surgeon (and if I was, there would be free surgery for all!).

I've got spray tan solution on my clothes will it wash out?
Yes! The spray tan solution that is on your clothes is mainly the excess solution that hasn't absorbed into the skin. Most spray tan solutions will wash out in warm soapy water and should not stain. If its particularly stubborn rub in some fairy liquid, leave it overnight and bung in the washing machine (also great to remove any other stain, oil mark or orange baby food). Some materials are prone to staining such as satin, silk and leather.

I am pregnant, can I get spray tanned?
There is no reason to not have a spray tan as the solution and the ingrediants have been used for many years without any danger and are FDA approved. Most women prefer to avoid having a tan in their first trimester as a precautionary measure. Some products can contain aromatherapy oils or nut by products so its vital to check what they contain at the time. If you find you are pregnant please inform your spray tan technician in confidence. Your skin changes a lot throughout pregnancy due to hormones and can greatly effect the outcome of the tan,

My last spray tan was different than the previous one, even though it was by the same technician with the same tan.

Again, it comes down to your skin. Your skin is a living thing, and is affected by many things like: time of the month, season, food you eat, stress, medication you take etc. If your tan is different, even though the solution used was the same, the most probable cause is the condition of your skin.

What if I have a very fair skin that has never been able to tan?

Hey, this is exactly why the spray tanning process was designed in the first place, for people that could not tan by any other method! Most probably you will get a fantastic colour with spray tan! Of course, people that tan easily will tan too.

I had bad experience with a spray tan before. Should I assume that spray tanning is not for me?

No, there are many factors that could effect your tan; the skill of the technician (if tanned with hand held gun), the quality of solution and your skin condition at the time. Also remember, that the spray tanning solution is a cosmetic, and so the particular one that you had used, might not be acceptable to your skin. Make sure that you choose the lightest tan possible, and good luck. The chances are high, that you will get a great tan this time.

My spray tan is peeling on my chest!

The answer, as we found it, is your perfumes, which were applied either before, or after the session. And it does not matter, if you had a shower and scrubbed before your spray tan. Some perfumes just permeate skin so deep, and cause this strange problem.
